Now forming group to enroll in 16 hour course.  To be offered somewhere in the U.S. Southwest (Calif, Arizona, New Mexico, or Nevada) depending on participants.

If we get approximately 15 participants interested in any particular area, then Neil Bungard will travel to us to give the course.  Vegas !!??  Maybe we can schedule with the long awaited electric Trike Fly-in !!??

If we can't get 15 ish people interested, the course will be held in Tucson.

Please use the RSVP button below to sign up as "Interested."

Don't be a shy lurker, mark as "interested" it doesn't hurt if it turns out you cna't attend, but it helps us figure out things.

Once we get enough people interested, we'll talk about location and dates.

Until then, I've set the date for this event imaginarily on 1/1/2016 (just so it won't expire on us while we're forming up).  I'll edit the date when we decide on one

Ken, got the e-mail, thanks. I will have to check with AC about the check. Like Dan mentioned I haven't used checks in years, I have to ask AC if they take money orders or paypal payments as well. Thanks for the help Ken.

    Best regards,

    Pedro

  • Doug Smith

Pedro, I'm sure they will take a money order. its the same as a check. ( a promis from a bank to pay) I mostly pay all my bills through my bank, and rarley write checks anymore. I can have them send a one time check straight from the bank thru its website. .  I don't blame AC for not mentioning credit cards, the bank takes a bigger slice nowadays from vendors and consumers.

  • Ken

Wow, just heard the class is now full with 15 confirmed attending. They are taking names now for the wait list in case anybody cancels. Nice job all!

  • Trike Ops

Doug, everything is good to go. I'll be arriving at KLAS on Friday 23 at arround 02:30L. I'll have a rental car as well, if someone needs a ride from KLAS to Boulder City on Friday at around that time let me know. See you there!

  • Doug Smith

I'll be driving up from LA that afternoon. I'm looking forward to meeting everybody. I haven't made hotel resv yet, has anybody called about rates?

  • Trike Ops

Doug, Quality Inn Boulder City: $57.51 (as of yesterday) a night + tax if you book through the price_ine website. The Quality Inn is about 8 min from Boulder City airport.

  • Jackye Reynolds

Hi Gang!  I'm trying to put the plan together that would make it possible for me to attend also.  I would like to book a flight to and from LAS, where I could hitch a ride to and from Boulder City and maybe book a room in the same hotel or find a place to crash for the weekend.  AeroManiac and others,,,,What times are your returning flights departing LAS?

Excited to at least consider attending,,,

    Jackye

  • Ken

You should contact Mia first @skyjackye0 I think the course is full and they are taking names for the waiting list at this point.

  • Wile E Scott

I'm booked at the Hoover Dam Lodge aka Hacienda Hotel & Casino for $158 total for three nights. Got the deal off of Expedia so I'm not sure how stable that is. The Quality Inn looks closer. Do we have a good roster yet? I'm very isolated as a Triker here in Southern Maryland. In my whole life I've only personally met two trike pilots! I may ask for autographs.

  • Ken

Looking forward to meeting you all as well 'Wile E'. There are lots of trike pilots here to meet for sure. The Lodge is a few miles north of todn at the entance to lake mead. I would say no more tha a 15 minute drive.

  • Jackye Reynolds

Well, I've had a face to face with prudence, and after looking over my debt ratio, I'm going to be stayin' closer to home,(NC) until another opportunity arises to earn a LSRM Certificate.  I'll be thinking about all you that get to learn about sail off inspections and torquing and tying, etc, etc.  I wish there were a home study course for this too! haha!  I know AC Neil and Mia will do a super job!  Have a good one and I want to see pics!

Does anybody need tranortation around town? Particularly anybody staying at the Quality Inn ( I took Aeromaniacs sugguestion and booked there)  I have a Safari Van that I almost never use the two rear bench seats. (I use it to haul stuff for work and camp when the mood seves me. Basically the most unsexy two seat car) If it would help I can load up a bench or two and help with rides. I could also pick up at the Vegas airport, if I time it right coming from Los Angeles.  Otherwise I'll leave the seats home to save gas and I do love a good nap in the back.

For those of us looking for context regarding our upcoming repairman class. Here is 51 pages of FAA light (sport) reading.... It's not often I find specific answers to my head scratching questions...

  • Ken

Thanks for the link Doug! Class is coming up! T-7 days, it will be great to see you all there.

  • Doug Smith

Ken, for me it's been helpful. I'm part time teacher, If I was going look for a manual to write this class syllabus... This would my starting place.

  • Leo

Hello all! Like all of you who are going, I just received an e-mail with the lunch menu, and other information regarding the class. Just an FYI for any who have not attended a course like this beofre, or if it's just simply been a long time.

Bring a small cooler, or lunch box and fill it with a few snacks, maybe some energy drinks of your choice.

Something to keep you going despite lunch or breakfast. The course seems to be pretty jam packed full of information, and trust me when I say as 1:30-2:30 rolls around.....the nap time syndrome starts kicking in. You will be glad you did as you reach for some snacks/drinks to keep you going till 5.

Just food for thought ( pun intended) :D

Looking forward to meeting all of you!

  • Wile E Scott

Nice tips Leo. I'll need some Monsters to get me to 5PM. BTW, the email address provided for the lunch request has the "WWW" in front and doesn't work that way. Delete the "WWW" before you submit your lunch request for Sat.

  • Leo

Oh cool! Thanks Scott, good to know, haven't done it yet! ><

  • Doug Smith

I figured on some trail mix to get thru, but caffeine may be in order as you suggested. I asked Mia about the second day order, and she said to send both and mark them for each day.( sat , sun)  for some reason they want them on Friday not earlier. Oh and also, thanks for the www tip.

  • Doug Smith

Ok class mates, Anybody thinking of flying off the lakebed on Monday? I'm not bring my trike, but a chance to hang for a day or two with Trikers would be nice.... yes I know it's a Monday but I thought I'd ask. :)

  • Wile E Scott

I'd really like to get some air time but I've got to get back to the real world and back to work. I'll be flying out Boeing style early on Monday. Totally sucks.

  • Ken

WX depending could be an option Doug. Looks like we may have a storm rolling in on Tuesday

  • Doug Smith

Thanks Ken, Wishfull thoughts on my part without even checking conditions. Its been nice back at the beach. Finished my drive into BC at the right time. Cault the Joshua trees outside of Nipton in the perfect light. Love the desert at Magic hour.

  • Trike Ops

At BC, Any one else besides Doug staying at the Quality Inn?

    Regards,

    Pedro

  • Ken
