- Hi Ken, These fires are amasing from the ground and the Country Fire Authority gets called out all the time to them. However when you see them from the air they just look great. The fire is started by a Ute draging a burning drum on a cable. you can see this in the photo Paddock burn starts.

I was having similar thoughts a while back, until the 787 nonsense. Those batteries had circuitry to prevent overheating and fire...- Thanks Rebel, I called Northwing twice and they told me it will be sent in the mail and I never received it. By the way I got married at "Valley of Fire", it was my wife's idea. She loves native Indian art and at Valley of Fire has a lot of petroglyphs.
- Thanks guys. Yes, the risk is higher the lower we fly. As they say, speed and altitude are your friend. But as they also say, no risk, no reward. I try to have an "out" as much as possible. I don't consider myself an adrenalin junky but do appreciate the detail you can see up close.

Who started the Fire? Was it you Gary? Gary said that he only got a flat tyre. The Fire was a controlled burn off around the runways. However Gary didn't read the NOTAM and when he Taxied down the RWY he got a flat tyre. So the aerodrome manager had to come and help. Oh that was YFT.
