Water air drop for a traffic accident on Trans-Labrador Highway. Canadair CL-415 water bomber aircraft are not only used to support ground firefighting activities in case of forest fires.

The "Superscooper" planes can be extremely useful when you need to extinguish fire following a car crash and your firefighting trucks are several miles away.

The following video shows a CL-415 water bombing a truck who caught fire after colliding with a bulldozer on the Trans-Labrador Highway. Several Canadian Government agencies, including the Ministry of Natural Resources in Quebec and Ontario and the Department of Natural Resources in Newfoundland and Labrador operate CL-415s.

Wow!!  Very accurate and he even was slightly upwind of the truck (smoke blowing to Right, he was to left of truck)-- but the splash was HUGE !!!!  Get er done, for sure!  I wish the camera would've rolled a little longer to hear the guys' exclamations and the aftermath.

Hi Ken, The CL215 & CL415 Are one of my favorite aircraft and I have flown in them.

@YFT what do you like about them?  How do they react when you drop all that water?  Want to climb like a banshee?

Hi All, The CL215 & CL415 were my first choice for fire fighting in Australia. But the Fire bosses couldn't see the value in them. Then wanted Helicopters. If Australia based two CL415's in each state we would have a ready fire unit available in very short time, than can travel very long distances quickly. In the off season they can be used for coast watch and SAR. But we couldn't get enough people on board, so the opertunity was lost. Whan the water goes and you can drop it in a number of patterns you can get a really good ride.
