Here is SkyVector showing some flying I have completed as of and including CrossCountry NAVs endorsement in March 2014.
In 1.3hrs I will have completed a total of 100 hours since my Microlight training began in July last year.
A significant milestone. Currently I have 49.7 hours dual (includes instruction or with passengers), and a total of 49 hours solo. I have been trying to exceed my dual hours with solo hours, and that's about to happen too. I started soloing in January so that has taken me 6 months to achieve.
I'll probably fly the 1.3 hours tomorrow and celebrate on the weekend :-)
How is everyone else doing with their hours?
Comments
I have been away for the last three days doing my Crosscountry Navs endorsement. Covered around 420nm of flying.(7hours!). Wow! And i passed everything and can now fly anywhere :-) (well, almost).
Also, as a result i have passed the magic 100 hours of solo time, and now have 103 hours, plus 65 dual/passenger time.
Megafauna may be a possibilty next year. I wont be able to make it this year.
I need a good sleep tonight...
Awesome CB - Congratulations!
Awesome CB !! We're continually learning. Hey, show us a map on SkVector where you've been ! Then we can really visualize what you've done.
HERE I started a couple points on a map in Oz for you-- just drag and drop to put in the rest.
You can right click on a point (airport or an unmarked coordinate) to add or delete it. You can drag the course line like a rubber band and drop it (release mouse) to a new point. Great to help plan flights too- I usually plot out my flights on SkyVector to get a general feeling for the distance, times, terrain and airspace.
HERE's a map of all the places I've flown (not necessarily contiguously). I think it's great fun to see all the places you've been-- it also starts to show graphically the places you have been missing-- more adventures!
XC, These are the routes I flew this week during my training. I must have done around 700kms (350NM) in total). That includes flying to the instructor and home again.

This link only roughly represents where I have been prior to Navs training.

Congratulations CB.
That will open all manner of possibilities to get out and about. I imagine it is moving into the good flying weather up north over the next couple of months.
Being up north, the next step is to get your cyclone endorsement. Thats some pretty serious cross wind practise. Good to catch up with you at the airshow.
Congratulations CB! I saw your beautiful trips on Skyvector.
Is very diferent how many flying hours made a "experienced" pilot. The most of crashes made pilots who have "a fresh" pilot licence. They have very low experiences but they want to show: I AM THE PILOT...
Other group is formed from a very experienced pilots, who flew by all weather, who landed on places, which are unusable for "a normal" pilots, they have many hunderts flying hours and they are very pround theirselfs and they thought: Im knowing everything! Nothing can to surprised me... And usually, then they made a stupid mistake...
In our country a pilot must have min 70h if he can fly with a passenger. Therefrom min 25h as pilot with 5h on XC flights, on two seats trike, on which he can fly with passengers.
Thanks Noel. I cant find an instructor that does cyclone endorsements, i'll keep asking around.
Joz, thanks for your comments too. As a pilot, knowing how to gently expand flying experience is key to staying safe and becoming a better and more capable pilot. I have been improving my skills by flying in weather that i can manage but that expands my tolerances to thermal turbulence and stronger winds. Mainly to be ready for varying weather during crosscountry flights. But we all know that the learning should never stop, and that we will never know it all.
Nice !!! Dude, I want to go to CooLooLa Cove-- it just sounds so ... COOL !!!
Jozinko, we can make stupid mistakes at any experience level-- ask me :0
Yea, XC, I may to write one little book about flying stupidity. My called name was Kamikadze. It gave me from military control tower :) Good news is - Im still alive, it means: Im be able to learn from my (and other pilots) mistakes... I will tell you in Oz...
You're right Jozinko, That's what CSI is about-- looking into experiences (ours and others) and seeing how the human thinking went wrong.
We're not the first to make mistakes, but we can help everyone make fewer / not make the same ones. maybe save someone's life.
Hi madmik, i am still entertaining the thought of megafauna (want a guest). But, i have been away so much this year and again soon, and besides... I dont think there are spaces left for ground drew accommodation etc.
After flying for over a year within my confined geographical boundaries, realising the vast open spaces are accessible to me is mind blowing.
CB, I want to open my flying spaces too. Then I have to go to Megafauna! From other side of the world. As a ground staff I will your bus driver :)) Veeeery funny :) I never drove for a bad way side before... So what?!? I never fly to other side of the world (up side down...OMG!!!). There will be really much of fun! Please, come and see us there. XC Triker and White Eagle from US will come too.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in Oz and to meeting Jozinko in person. Listening to the Ukranian news today - it will be good to hear Jozinko's perception directly. Thank you so much everyone at YFT for working so hard to make this happen.
Congrats CB, that is a milestone :)
I am now 2 Century's Old!!!
Today I clocked up 200.9hours. 122 of which are solo hours. I had my first training flight on 1st July 2012, so all this in 3 years.
Here's to another 100 hours of safe flying for me and everyone else here.
Hi CB, well done. you are catching up to me. Have another 1000 hours of fun.
All the best
YFT
Congrats CB,
What a geat backyard you have to fly in both inland and down to the coast and Fraser Island, whale and dolphin watching. Enjoy the next 200 hours.
Great CB! You became an experienced pilot, congratulation! I hope your next 100-200-1000hrs will be beautiful and safe.
