Awesome Ken,
I read a book about Bob Wills life titled "Higher than Eagles" wrote by his mom Maralys Wills and brother and covers his childhood, how he was a rebal as a child and was not his dad's most favorite, how they made the very first hang glider, his flying adventures and records and finally his death. It was one of the best reads.
You can also saw that he was essentially the concept behind a trike because he strapped his hang glider to his motorcycle and flew it a few times.
And if I remember correctly the book mentioned despite being a great hang glider pilot, he got killed by losing control of the hang glider due to rotor wash of a helicopter that was shooting a commercial with him.
They don't make nice gliders like those anymore.
So many fond memories..my days of flying began with delta tow kites behind ski boats, then we leaped off hills in those primitive kites! Thankyou for sharing truly remarkable imagery of how the trike became to be and those brave pioneers of the time...they don't make gliders like that anymore. I still have a 14ft Moyes kite hanging in my workshop roof..
