I wanted those Velcro bar mitts...that would be awesome, I have Bar mitts that came with the trike but I have to detach the control bar to put them on...Very inconvinient.
Riz, I have bar mitts that have (had) the clear window on the front-- I think I got them from Ozze. They can be taken off the control bar without disconnecting the bar. They spun around the bar in flight (if my hands weren't in them, so I put an extra velcro wrap inside them to stop that.
The clear plastic is now very cracked and I have taped them up (clear wide packing tape) nearly too many times, but they may be able to do it again. The gloves themselves are still in good shape. I also sewed a small pocket in them to hold a chemical hand warmer when it gets really cold. I prefer layers of clothing and chemical warmers to complicated electric clothes when it gets cold (we've flown in below freezing long distance before). Now with my Fladen suit, I can layer up all I want underneath and not blow the zipper (like we did on the Ozze suits multiple times). Plus the Fladen is warmer to start with and has double sealed cuffs.
Anyway..... I have asked Santa for new Bar Mitts and you can have my current ones if you want them. The clear pocket is very nice for Radio Freq lists, Airport diagrams, and whatever notes you need.
Dear Mr. Claus 'Santa'.. if you check with the fairies, I have been good all year! Please empty another decade of safe flying, in my bag of smooth landings.. and if you have any, a few natural challenges to Satis-fly my Passion.. in 2013.!..oh, the cookies & glass of milk are in the kitchen, & a few nibbles on the lawn for the engine room guys. Thankyou. Safe Landings.. with a Merry Christmas.
PS. Santa, maybe you wannna trade in the slay for an Tanarg BioniX for next years global toy run?!
Geezus, watching that video and seeing their (fake) bodies hurled around, I really need to ask Santa for one even if I'm not sure we can afford it. The really awesome thing is I/We can move them to whatever plane we're flying. Probably especially useful if I fly with you Ken!!! ; ) (just kidding....) Hey, why don't you do a picture documentary of your instrument pod improvements? That's a nice how to... and it has a little bit of Christmas gift in it because you were able to fit that neat fuel management computer from MGL in.
I am thinking of getting a Drift as my next camera, simply because you can operate it with remote. The only thing I don't like about Drift is that most videos I have seen shot with Drift are slightly darker and not as crisp as Gopro..that is just my opinion and needs a bit more research.
A want Santa to bring me a decent motorbike so that I can keep up with my wife when she is on hers.
I also want a Gopro Hero3 Black, but they are not shipping to Europe yet, and when they do they will charge 40% more than the US price! Still going to get one though.
Santa and have had several talks this about rolling the next decade of Christmas days into one so we can airbourne "Tanarg Style". I keep pointing out the strength of the aussie dollar and I think he may be coming round. Its just the 'handbrake' (wife) that needs convincing now:)
Janet, I believe that the Gopro3 black is the perfect camera for more than just action stuff. It coes with built in wifi and a remote control which I think are extra on the Gopro2. It also does 1080 HD at 60 fps which makes for great slowmo videos.

I asked him for one of those fancy airbag systems for my trike!
Wow Ken, those are cool.
It looks to be about $1500 US + VAT. Good deal, I think we should all ask Santa for one, but it will only work if worn all the time.

Maybe santa can bring me one of those fake bodies to fly front seat and act as my cusion?
I'm kind of surprised that no one here has mentioned cameras... are the GoPro 3 worth it? What are the big advantages the 3 have over the 2?
And how about that new Mini iPad? Anyone here using that for navigation or inflight weather?

Those are all great ideas @Janet. Maybe you could be my agent and help to broker a deal with Santa?
You asking Janet to give hints to Karen?
Whatever it takes :)
Santa Came Early Today !!!!
I didn't even ask for this, but somehow he knew I'd want it AND he knew the colors of my new Wing!!!
Base Tube Grips-- so I can change hand position in flight & get more leverage sometimes!!!
Custom welded! Not available in stores ....
Ken, I didn't know you worked as an Elf for Santa!!!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!

Hi Bob,
Is the GoPro 3 THAT much better than the 2? Wondering if it's worth it...

Show your elf some flying movies Jagsy, she'll come around. She's close, I can tell ; )
