What do you consider and recommend for crosscountry vs local flights?  What good ideas have you seen?

I have heard that mirrors, water and firstaid kit are good for starters.

You should pack your wing bag in some remote part of your trike and hope you never have to dig it out.If you trailer, then put it in a gear bag in your back seat.

I carry everything Henry listed above for all flights, plus a tire inflator and slime for the tires and jumper cables for the battery.

A collapsible water container will do for an emergency gas can. Pack it way in another remote corner and bring it on every flight.
