  • What an efficient flying machine.Neat!
  • I loved the video, Even with gas (petrol) version, one lt of fuel consumption for almost a 3 hr flight is very economical.
  • I really like this video. Highlights the electric motor version (HPD 10 rated at 10 Kw => 13.5 hp). Very aerodynamically clean trike. Great battery life when shutting down the motor to soar. The ATOS VR has one of the best glide ratios of all...

Hi monty thanks for the comments you are right modern ignition systems and fuel systems are very reliable.but they do break sometimes or I wouldn't have a job.i am often asked what makes and models are the best and I reply none of them or I would be...

No - only one failed. Traced it down to one of the the stator coils. $750 beans to replace!! Ouch
  • Dean Coleman commented on a page titled chinese parts on your trike
Did both mags fail ken? Seems like this would only happen if something came apart in the stator.Got a chance to fly 503 for 15hrs in havasu and runs great extra power climbs like a rocket and fuel burn is the same as the 447 cause its not working as...

Interestingly enough the only ignition I have had fail is one of the dual ignitions on a rotax 582 aicraft engine with only 150 hours on it at the time.

hi dean, i share you'r sentiments re chinese pishkins on a 503, but me being CHEAP when my pistons both seized in my 503 a few years ago i bought every thing for top end PLUS crank seals for $240. thats pistons, rings, snaprings gaskets and seals,...
  • Happy Triker commented on a video Aerotowing the ATOS
They have all kinds of training equipment for biginners, amazing.
  • ULtrikepilot added a video Aerotowing the ATOS
Found this very interesting video that includes some excellent footage of both aerotowing and FLPHG an ATOS. I do not understand German so I just cut down the volume. I have been having dreams of flying either an ATOS VX or VR190 on my trike. I...

  • ULtrikepilot created a page New HG distance world record
Travelling 570 kilometres in one day is a good effort for anyone, but to do it powered purely by the elements is a world record. Newcastle pilot Scott Barrett smashed the previous record held for distance-to-goal hang gliding by more than 190...

hi guys I only went to the 503 for the dual ignition system didn't need the extra power.i stayed with single carb so I went from 40 hp to 48hp fuel burn should only be 2.5 to 3 gph maybe less if I can fly at lower rpm will test in havasu soon.447...

Hi Dean, Congrats on the 503. What are you doing with your old 447? Are you going to a larger fuel tank for the 503's higher fuel burn?
  • Happy Triker commented on a page titled chinese parts on your trike
Hi Dean, I'm grad you found it before you go flying. I heard that there are many cheap AN bolts made in China, come to US market. I don't want to use them especially on my wing. So, I buy only from big aircraft parts suppliers.

hi all havent been on for awhile.i am doing a 503 transplant on my trike .have gotten an eye opener on parts supplies thru the process.bought a 503 zero time rebuild on e bay it was a deal so i took a chance i had planned on getting rebuild...

yup agreed joe they both go hand in hand. and thermals will be triggered by those big bowls you were flying over. a great way to learn about thermal flying is a rc sailplane. john and I have years of experience with rc sailplanes . I don't...

Beautiful job Joe! Debbie and I were sitting here in the living room watching you soar and reminiscing about the great people and great times the Polson fly-in was. Hope we meet again!
