~ 166 Airports, Fields, or off road (4 Countries- hopefully more soon :)

If you put all your airports/off airports on SkyVector, you can make a cool map of the places you've been.  These are mine:

In North American Continent (US, Mex, Canada, Hawaii)

      In AUSTRALIA  (MegaFauna 2014, etc)

ALL  (get's a little crowded in this view)

Did he remove the front tube prior to flight? :)

From a friend who referred this: "This is an old video. At 00:19 there is a photo and there is a front tube in place. 4 seconds later, as he is taking off, the tube is gone."

Uploaded on Dec 10, 2011- I think this is in Brazil

"MiniTrike com motor 4t Honda 200cc - primeiro teste em voo." = "4t Honda 200cc MiniTrike -- First test flight"

I like the thumb throttle.

I got to watch this video previously and I said to myself, "where the front tube went." After further examination noticed that there wasn't one at all, it was just the left upright/downtube that looked like the front tube due to the angle of the picture (look by his left knee), very deceiving. By the way XC, I wish could go to Australia with you guys, take some pictures for me.

  • Jozinko

Yes, the AM have right. You probably saw the left trapese.

Come with us AM. XC knows, what throubles I had to solve if I want to go there.

Hey Aeromaniac, it would be cool if you could come!  I can feel the yearning in my bones now very excited!

On another topic, do you think this trike is designed without a front tube?  (agreed 00:19 shows the downtube ;).   There looks to be a socket on the keel over the front wheel for a front tube.  The frame does have a brace right behind the pilot's back that likely could handle much of the distraction force in such a short frame (?)

  • ULtrikepilot

XC, yes I think the short brace or strut behind pilot seat is what strengthens it enough to eliminate normal front strut. BTW, this is an example of a post that could reference the "Part 103 or Ultralight" group category.  I noticed earlier that that category is not available when  new post, page, video example is created.  I'm wondering if we might be able to get the admin on this site to create that as a new category.  What do you think of that idea?

  • XC Triker

Hey ULT, I didn't notice your comment while I was posting (saw email notice of comment ;).   Yes, I should have posted this in the Part 103 / UL group, that would've been better organization for those who follow.   To post there directly I would go to the Group first (instead of going to VIDEOS  or  PAGE  or etc in the upper blue menu bar).  Then, from that Group's Page, on the right vertical column are "Group Videos"  "Group Pages" etc-  click on whichever one you want to see or post to.  That's how I do it  ;)

I think it can be moved, but @Admin would have to do that.

  • ULtrikepilot

Hi XC, it may be that you misinterpreted my comment.  I think a new video link can be posted most any where (your own link, video for a group, etc), right?  I was referring to the "categories" field.  If I go to create a new page or post a video I need to fill out several fields (description, tags, etc) but there is also this field with "categories" where one can check many categories like "trike talk", "safety", etc.  Here is were I think the "ultralight or part 103" option for a category would be nice but it does not exist.  I may be wrong but my interpretation is that the categories may be useful for a search on this site but maybe it has other uses/purposes.  Maybe this is synonomous with the key words but I'm not sure about that.

ULT, good idea, there is now a category to click on named "Ultralight or Part 103"-  that will help organize anything anywhere posted from now on (or retroactively edited to have been clicked on (as this video now is- look above under the title)).  Any SEARCH for "Ultralight"  or "Part 103" will now bring up these posts as well (as long as members use the categories to help organize our site).  I could not move this video to be under the UL/103 group's videos--  but that kind of organization helps greatly as well, and should inform the group members who've elected to receive notifications about "their" group's activities (another great reason to post it there).
