Tom, my friend, you fly like a gosehawk (the most manuverable bird), I love your flying and the song selection was awesome, never heard this song before but love it. Little live communication on the radio was another great touch....Overall, I give it five stars.
You'd think that was true from those that fear it's power (and sales) and speak in tongues ! ; )
I know you love it, just wanted some details! ; ) Differences from your old wing? Do you find you can fly with more people now because of the speed range? Any cool, unexpected effects? Good for offroad because of it's slow approach?
The wing is very predictable and a nice cruiser! The trim feature was what I was after - something that actually works! My old Cruiz wing had one speed - 63mph. The Bionix for me likes to fly at 73 mph and much faster if I want to step up the RPM's/gas. Nice for dealing with headwinds and such. Also will have to add to your landing checklist to 'let it out' for lower stall speeds and better 'slow' handling. I quickly got used to this wing and so will you. Henry says the Bionix can fly in the rain. I really didn't want to find out but got caught twice this summer in the wet stuff for fairly brief periods. It handled as it always does.
Tom, Are you flying the Bionix15 on 80hp or 100hp? I'm waiting on one that I'll be flying on 80hp, and am curious about the performance. Any further details are appreciated, Doug
Doug-that's a ,loaded question. A high performance wing to me would be one that is more maneuverable meaning actually 'less stable'. The Bionix is not that. It is a very predictable cruiser wing that effectively changes configuration for fast/slow ops. It has several bells and whistles that enhance its lift efficiencies such as the addition of the winglets. What you can expect is slightly faster cruising speeds and a new capability of setting your RPMs first and trimming the wing to match. running an 80 hp 912 currently but that may change here real soon. I have a 100hp Tanarg on the way. I'm in no way experienced enough to have flown a multitude of wings to give a reasonable comparison with other designs. So my opinion is limited other than ... It works well for me!
Tom, That's good enough! I'm familar with the wing but wanted a second opinion on the 80hp application, which is what I got. I'm not wanting the 100hp myself. Just wanted to get an idea of what to expect when I fly the B15 on my Tanarg. Thanks, Doug
I was very impressed with the BioniX, but it was "too fast" for my Cobra without additional directional stability, i.e. fins on the wheel pants etc. Plus I really have no use for flying 100mph. I got a NuviX on order which should arrive first of the year. It has the corset like the Bionix, a wide speed range, but top end of only 90mph. I'll never fly that fast anyway, it hurts my neck too much to hold my head pointing ahead into the wind.
Tom, I see you have a Tararg on the way. Are you picking it up in Pheonix?

Great stuff Tom! Love it. Sounds like you had the guy worried on that touch and go eh?
Does "Airing it out" mean hauling_$#|+!@_down low)? Nice vid!! How do you like the BioniX?
The Bionix wing sucks. Very slow, lathargic, and unstable! Anyone want mine? ;D
Satire, eh?! ; )

Hey, also noticed in my comment above, it got a bit, how shall I say "cleansed"

Jeff- I've been eyeing the Nuvix too. Please write a review when you get yours. I'd love to hear how it flies.
