Happy Triker, A majority of the places have no names on the map. Local pilots (myself included) just made up names for them. That's half the fun of flying into the unknown, being surprised, and making up a name and sharing these spots with friends.
Hi Dinga, this was in the northwest part of Montana, about a 12 hour drive from home. We hit other spots between here and there. Yes, America has been blessed with an amazing diversity of landscapes!
Leo, the only trouble in Napa is the vineyards. There are very, very few spots to land so I had to fly pretty high most of the time. Still, nice views. Fortunately, we've got the area to the west that's too close to the ocean for grapes!
I can say it is an aircraft in different category. I'm flying low but there are many safe landing spots for this ultralight. I feel vary safe. Of course, I should be very careful for wires. It flies only 35 to 40mph, so I have twice more time to react to avoid a wire.
