I can tell you as a montana native that this is just an absolutly beautiful place for a fly in.  Great green grassy meadows for that e/o option and much to do places to see . Skallako pass , lolo hot springs, fine resteraunts, river run through it views of the bitteroot river. And my ppg friend are aranging a... noreply YYYY-MM-DD

Its now confirmed and the dates are set.    This years pnw trike fly in will be held in stevensville montana. 29.8 miles south of missoula in the beautiful bitteroot valley. I can tell you as a montana native that this is just an absolutly beautiful place for a fly in.  Great green grassy meadows for that e/o option and much to do places to see . Skallako pass , lolo hot springs, fine resteraunts, river run through it views of the bitteroot river. And my ppg friend are aranging a few out of the way private air ports for us to exsplore. I think there will be some great options for all of us including some great thermal and ridge soaring  and xc flying.  Do a good bit for everyone.

   Dates are now set for the 14 of july thru the 21st ....... please start hitting the rsvp button if you think you might attend for our planning.    

     The airport is quite excited to have us and is making everything convenient for us.

  Hanger space on first come first serve basis and i will be posting on continuous room availible as it opens up

  Rv and camping will be available at the AP .and it looks as if a few hanger owners will provide some hose water for us as well.

       Tom tabbs  did a great job securing a location for us and i will be adding more info as it becomes availible.

    Stevensville Fly-in Update

    - the planning for the Stevensville Montana trike fly-in is complete.  I have the full cooperation and assistance from the Airport Committee, City Councle, and even the Mayor of Stevensville! - Brandon Dewy.  We have the site selected for both RV and tent camping and anyting else you bring along.  I also have little things arranged like porta-pottys, water supply, and trash taken care of.  There WILL be hanger space available.  We'll have use of the EAA hanger and power supply for charging equipment and accomodate a live band that will be performing for us on the 20th.  

    There will be TONS of things to do - both related to flying and not.  There are several airports you can land at with a restaurant within walking distance.  The scenery I promis will be spectacular.   There are is also a lot of things you may be interested in visiting - including hot springs, brewerys, museums, and even a community pool if the days get hot!  There will be much to do and explore.

    I'm trying to find a hole in the wx to fly over and meet with all the folks. We've had our share of wx systems blowing through lately.   I'd like to put together a video so you have a good understanding of what your getting into, what the area is like, and what you'll find when you arrive.  So stay tuned.    I think this will be an awesome fly-in for those that make it.

    Thats wonderfull news Tom, I cant wait to get re-aquainted with everyone again and explore the new area. (new to me)

    Thanks so much to both David and yourself for giving of your time and energy to put this event together.

    Im looking forward to kicking up my heels with y'all on Friday night too.

    BTW - I've been asked to pass on that there is a very nice bike trail that runs from Stevensville to Missoula.  If you are remotely a biker, put one in the trailer and bring it along!  I'm hoping the wx cooperates for a run over there next weekend.  Then I can give you all a full report!  Laughing

    Well I really look forward to this fly-in.  Will be great to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.  This will be my 5th year participating.  Kind of crazy for a pilot traveling from the east coast but the flying out there is so awesome.  For the first time my wife will be joining me.  No she will not be enduring the extended journey on the road as I will be picking her up and droping her off at the Missoula airport.  Also I will have my new bird with me, I think she will like flying out there.  Tom I hope the WX cooperates for your flight over there.  I will be looking for your update on airport accomodations.  Cheers.

    I asked about No Ethonol Premium availability in Stevensville.  The nearby Cenex station in town has 3 pumps that are standing by!  Wink

    Hi all i want to update you on the 2018 pacific north west fly in

    Tom tabbs is over in stevensville fine tunning the details but everthing is looking good

     Please park you rvs perpendicular to the fence and pass this on. Thanks

    The airport has asked us not to buzz the wildlife refuge  or any house's  or public aeras low as the feds watch this closely 

    We will have multiple cfis there for intro flights and check rides 

    Tom tabbs will be leading an adventure to bannack ghost town  for those so xc eqquiped

     

    Larry and amy from revo are driving all the way up from florida to meet everyone so please give them a big welcome

    And kameron belvins from north wing is comming again so please  make him welcome thanks everyone

    Going to be good to see and fly with everyone. Getting close now and many are already on their way from about everywhere. The weather is looking better and remains cooler than the rest of the country. Dont forget to bring your swimming trunks as theirs a swimming pool   olympic size that we can hang out at during the day. $5 is not bad to stay cool. Some really  great micro brews in town and some great places to eat. A short hike and a natural hot springs if i can get good directions to the trail. Put your best safety hats on and remember no low flying over the town buildings  and wildlife sanctuary near the airport?  Lookin forward to everyone!
