I bought a GoPro3+ Black as a Christmas present to myself and took it out on a test flight. The color and picture quality is definitely a step or two up from my old Aiptek that had served me well since 2008. I'll have fun re-flying and re-filming all my favorite spots this upcoming year.

This is my standard "around the patch" flight. East across the grassy plains to the Manzanos, the slow climb up the ramp from Abo Gap the 10,000 ft South Manzano Peak, high altitude cruise over the forest, spiral descent and then a run up and down the Rio Grande. I have filmed the Manzano ascent and cruise many times in the past with the Aiptek, but was never satisfied with results. This one came out great! Click full screen and 1008p and enjoy the flight.

Jeff another one of your amazing videos.i just got my hero cameras so iam just now trying to figure all this out. the hero 3 black seems to give you a much more broader view. Ive heard others say that the hero 3 is not as good as the hero 2 or the hero 3 black.i was also watching you're spiral dives since that subject has come up a lot lately.you look like you've got a good bank angle and that wing rolls out very nice i can see you decrease the aoa and you're roll out looks pretty gentle.(nicely done with skill).its just so pleasant for me to watch you're videos of my old friends the manzonos and the water melon mountains.one of the biggest things i miss about living there and of course hatch chille.the sandias and the manzonos mountains are so unique, formed by plate tectonics pushing the ocean floor up to 10,693 ft with many fossils to be found up there.do you have any footage of when that western face glows brilliant red during one of New Mexico  awesome sunsets. That would be just awesome for all of us here who love you're videos     thanks

Hi Jeff, what a great movie. Anne and I were just saying that if you are a trike person, you are right along with you on your flight. Loved the choice of soundtrack...most unusual, but appropriate. From YFT and Anne M

Nice Jeff.  I wanted to thank you for your positive roll model on safety.  Most people don't take the time to do things like touch & go before leaving the safety of the pattern.  When you were low in this video it was exciting and good filming but it was in a place where there was the availability of plan B, etc.   You promote triking in very exciting and positive ways!!

"Oblivion" sound track gave me the impression a great white was following you closely ;)  but it worked!  Adds excitement like Hitchcock did by playing inside your head rather than (over) spelling it all out like too many of todays directors do.
