If you have a pair of strobes, and you have a king post, then I would put one strobe on kingpost and the other one right below and in the middle of your main landing gear. My 2 cents.
Looks like he simply pancaked it hard enough to collapse the kingpost and twang the leading edge (and bend the front fork), presumably without the wing contacting the ground (maybe it did slightly?). I’ve seen guys break tangs like this.
