Strobe location

Hey everybody, Just looking for the current consensus on strobe location for a small single seat part 103 trike like ours. Personally I prefer a mast mount about 6 inches above the average pilots head height and facing the rear of the trike. Seems like it provides the best coverage to make you visible to other aircraft. There are no ASTM standards that I have been able to find regarding this topic and I have personally seen strobes mounted in all sorts of interesting / strange locations on trikes over the years. Some prefer to mount it on the end of the main frame tube pointing down and to the rear. This location is good for some situations but can be hindered by landing gear tubing and the position of the trike with regards to the position of other pilots in the air. The mast mount, in theory, provides a larger radius of effective visibility both around the aircraft and below it. The only downside to the mast mount is that it hinders visibility from above due to the wing. Since most 103 pilots like to fly around 1000 agl, that can be an issue if you want to be seen by the Cessna guys. So there's the problem.... what position do you like?

If you have a pair of strobes, and you have a king post, then I would put one strobe on kingpost and the other one right below and in the middle of your main landing gear. My 2 cents.

That's where I have mine, top of the king post and between mains.
