I'd really like to get some air time but I've got to get back to the real world and back to work. I'll be flying out Boeing style early on Monday. Totally sucks.- Don't get me wrong, my CFI was great. I was concentrating more on bringing his magnificent aircraft back in one piece than the amazing feeling of going solo. I celebrated that later when back at the hangar.

- Hi Jeff, Great stuff. One comment about the 180 back to the runway. Don't get some altitud...it is a lot more than 180 degrees to get back to the runway you took off fr...have a good safety margine before turning back, otherwise look for an option...

I think it must gotten hung up in the haul back lever mechanism at some point. There is some.... I see no other damage to the keel, or haul back cables etc... No idea how man...line that was wearing as well. Ready to get back at it!...- Thanks for posting Crayon Box. The pilot w...nd straight ahead if runway remaining, or turn back- gliders can often turn back at much lower altitudes becau...nwind landing attempt. Gliders cant taxi back to the upwind end of a runway...
- Hi CrayonBox, This brings back memories. The Guy that filmed it was a Leading Seaman called Peter Fish. He now lives in Darwin. I was his CO in the Photographic branch. I was not in that video but I was the one that flew the Mirage in for the sunset shot. Thanks for posting a great memory.
- Thanks Jozinko, I was hoping to make the journey above the clouds at 2400'amsl but they closed in tight and I had to get back down underneath, the video doesn't show how few options there were left. As always, I have one eye on the exit door at all times .... just in case. Phil

Flying with Ttabs, Henry & GeoBlaze too-- I don't even bother to video tape-- These guys have the video covere...bsp; But, maybe I can give some back story: Flight log this da...hen flew over lake Cour de Alene, and back to Felts-- Tom in lead, contr...- actually dave it is a Daewoo with a chevy badge but pulls it great with the car fully loaded with all the crap to go down south for the winter.i even brought back a motor for my Harley on the trailer when I came back home.
