Meeting everyone at Flying-J / el Mirage

Gene, Pat, Sally, Joe, Chad Bastian, David, Vera

Sally got word to us through AllTrikes to drop in on the Flying J at El Mirage.  We made some quick in the air calculations, and given that we had a tailwind, we thought we could make it there.  We'd need some mo-gas though- and flying J is in the middle of the desert (all by itself where they can have fun- don't mind the military drones testing there too though ... ;)

Everyone was really nice.  It was a fun place to land and it was nice to get down and get warm.  Gene gave us 5 gallons of gas which was able to get us to Santa Paula.

It was gusty at Santa Paula & the landing was difficult.  Should I take off again into that ...?  We stopped at Henry's hangar, Jim got gas for the trike and polished his motorcycle for a while rather than ride home in the winds.  I was able to get up & out, and home to Santa Maria - warm (finally) and beautiful as predicted today for a nice landing.

Great trip!!  Made possible by the help and generosity of everybody--  Especially, Henry, Ken, Jim, Reb, Ttabs, Sally, Gene & my beautiful wife.

We talked about the Salton Sea event and everybody's stoked to go.  The El Mirage team has a cool place to land and stay just north of the event!!!

Hello, nice picture.  Thank you for dropping and say hello.  It was pleasant to meet you both.   After you left, it started to get bumpy and windy.  We ended up putting trikes away rest of the day.   It was blowing 15-20 NE after 1 pm.  I'll go again hopefully this Thurs, Fri, and/or Sat.
