Most important, make sure you are at the "Album" level-  meaning you can see all the photos in the album, and are not viewing any particular photo in the album itself.

You can upload a photo(s) to the Album, but that option is not available if you are viewing a photo within the album.

Good way to also know where you are in navigating this site is to look at the grey words under the word "Activity" in the Menu bar toward the upper right.

Here it will say something like "Photos > First Flight of the Year- 2013... > First Flight 2013 > (? Individual photo ?)

Each of the ">" marks show how deep you are in navigation into the album or site in general.  So, above means you are looking at the Photos section of AT, in the First flight 2013 Album.  If it goes on to say something like " > Cool photo of me in snow" you are deeper than the album level and are viewing an individual photo.

Cool thing is that each of the words / levels in grey IS A CLICKABLE link that wil let you click up 1, 2, or more levels in one click to get you where you want to be.
