PHOTO vs File-- USE "PHOTO" FOR PICTURES-- OR ELSE !!!

When you upload a picture as a "PHOTO" (under the photos menu at top, or on the right if uploading to to specific group) you get a cool thumbnail to tease everyone into clicking on your photo.

However, when you upload a picture as a "File" under the More menu / Files then you don't get a cool thumbnail, and hardly anyone checks out your picture.  The reason is that "Files" is really for uploading actual files (like Word, or Exce, or PDF documents)-- and why would you want a thumbnail of those?

Also, one last insult when you upload a Picture as a File--  it can't be featured as top photo of the day--  only Photos work in the software for "Feature Me"

BUT you CAN embed a FILE into the comments section of another Photo *1--  That is one advantage of a File-- and it turns out that GeoBlaze was probably doing that--  smarter than us  ;)

*1 What do you mean Embed?  Well, look at the upper right of a comment box (comment Box is where you'd write something like "Nice Photo, Geo!"   Well, if you then wanted to say, but this one is better [Embed Photo].    Where [Embed Photo] is a file of an uploaded picture that you stuck in the comment section of someone else's photo's, pages, videos, etc.   Click on "Embed Content," then choose a previously uploaded file or upload a new one then choose it.   That's basically the only time that uploading a Picture as a File is useful.
