    We flew over Santa Maria Reservoir and headed down the valley to Creede.  We landed at the Creede Airport and tied down our trikes, then hitched a ride into tow...a friend of ours who lives in Creede, said we could use.

    Weminuche Pass is so gentle that when Paul and I approached it from the Creede side last year, we flew 5 miles beyond the pass before realizing we were over the top and heading downhill.

  • Williams Lake

    We landed at Pagosa, refueled and headed north up the Piedra Valley. We flew past Williams Reservoir and approached the 12,500 ft mountains that blocked our path to Creede.   It was 11am and the clouds were just starting to build.

  • Blue Green Valley

    We were up at dawn and headed upstream to look at the waterfall we saw yesterday.  I looked back down the beautiful blue green Creede Valley.

  • Sunrise Taxi

    Chris was up first and headed out.  He promised his wife with a new baby he...d never catch up to Chris, so we decided to climb up La Garita Mountain behind Creede.   

  • Garita Peak

    We steadily climbed out of the valley to reach the top of the 12,500 ft mountain north of Creede, Garita Peak.  From there we followed a high mountain ridge to the east. This is a view back to the northwest to Garita Peak and the large park below the mountain.
