This one is a 4 cylinder boxer engine. Weighs a lot less than Rotax 80hp and costs about half. They also have a water cooled 80hp Hirth with inline 3 cylinders.
With no GA traffic on Sunday evening, I had to practice a few engine off landings. In this case I cut power on down wind for several landings. I am a big believer in the importance of practicing engine off landings quite often.
Here we have a mock up of major components like the coolers etc. Right or wrong i mounted the engine with a 5 degree lift on the rear so that when in flight I had a level thrust as my nose rides about 5 degrees up in flight.
I supported a little too forward and had to add support at the gear box to keep the rear of the trike from tilting back. Right around the engine mount to frame attachment area would be better.
