Special Twin Engine purpose designed for Alaska Bush Flying

The video posted online recently of an unusual bushplane diving off the edge of a cliff is an attention-getter -- the tiny, two-seat, two-engine, bubble-canopied, tundra-tired airplane shows off some extreme flying capabilities ...

Not a trike, but the visibility is much cooler than the typical box.  I love the STOL capability of trikes.  Is this thing cooler than the AirCam ... ?

    Those are Crazy Videos!

    A friend sent me this:

Some context: A letter to his mom….

    Dear Mom,

After many years I’ve taken your advice and got therapy. In fact, it was my therapist who though this letter may help resolve some anger issues I have with you that may have leading to what you describe as ‘extremism’. To me, they’re just fun things to do however…

Well, I’ve moved again, this time to Alaska, so I guess I’ve not really changed all too much. Still living life outside the box and finding new ways to feel alive. Alaska’s pretty extreme in all way but it’s a beautiful place – particularly in late Summer.

But it’s still cold… so you’ll be happy to know there’s no more jumping from perfectly safe aircraft or from off a cliff. And I know you were really pissed at the base jumping… yes, I admit it was splitting hairs and being obsequious, but those days are all behind me now. I’m  parachute free….

A colleague roped me into some glacial exploring the other day. You’ve no idea just how big they are up-close. Anyway, he took a video of us way up as the beauty can only really be appreciated from an elevated platform. He even managed a couple of short videos.

This one’s from above the glacier as I moved down to get a closer look.

And this, our decent (from his perspective):

Anyway, had better fly. Don’t want this glacier to melt before we get there.

I hope this has brought you some peace knowing I’m living life to the fullest… It’s worked for me J

    Warm thoughts.

ps... it's total fiction but I only inform my mother after I've landed & never before about when I'm flying... she just worries as mother's do...

Ah, no thanks XC. Leave this one to you. Either these pilots have balls as big as elephants or just mad. Those double-ender's (in-line push/pull twin 914's) with huge tundras have amazing short field performance. Still - off a cliff!!!!!!

Here's there website btw & a bit more commentary here (but there are a heap of articles around).

Ive got one thing to say:............OH MY GOD YOUR MAMA WAS RIGHT....!!!!!!
