Since I'm still having trouble getting a better quality video, here's a photo from last weekend at Salton Sea.
We climbed to 4500' to make a short cut over the water. Smooth air all the way.
These "fishing" cabins have a square net they lower into the water and then pull them back up time to time to see if they have caught a fish. I recon it's a mans excuse to leave the house for a few hours and drink a beer or two with friends
Winds were calm this morning and we headed straight up the Rio Puerco Valley with few scenic detours. We took a look at the mud water fall, flowing nicely from the summer rains.
We continued due north for Pagosa Springs.
the extra filters are sold by oreillys autoparts for lawn mowers etc. $3.95 ea. i'm no lover of paper filters, they can soak with water and plug up. (ask me how i know!).
We found the cliff where "Chocolate Falls" forms in the spring. No mud today, just some clear water dribbling over the edge. It looked like oasis in the middle of nowhere.
Spare shoes (one is behind left rear wheel because windy), two inflantable mattrasses, two sleeping bags, spare clothes, tent, big blue bag with my father's spare clothes and a bottle of plum brandy and a bottle of water.
We flew by the Grand Falls of the Little Colorado River, which by luck had some water running after a fall rainstorm three days earlier. The lead pilot is my friend Paul Dressendorfer.
