the extra filters are sold by oreillys autoparts for lawn mowers etc. $3.95 ea. i'm no lover of paper filters, they can soak with water and plug up. (ask me how i know!).

Thanks for the photos Monty, it's much clearer now. So are these paper filters? So, where did the water come from that plugged up your prior paper filters ?
also, i had a problem when a flake of the glue that seals the paper to the rest of the filter found its way into the float needle seat and would periodically cause extra adrenalin rushes in this old body, it finally took 60lbs of reverse air pressure to blow the little bugger out, i caught it in a cup! (not this trike or 503) my old home made 'trikezilla' copy.
I don't know how to with with those. We had problems with the paper once disintegrating, switched to the glass ones with mesh, then ethanol melted the end o-rings. In the end Racor was the king.
