Yesterday morning 3 friends flew over two mountain ranges to explore the Little Karoo in the De Rust area of South Africa. We had a couple of farm road landings and take-offs and saw the most beautiful countryside.
George and I flew around the hot air balloons at Lake Havasu. This is the 6th Havasu Balloon Festival. Hundreds of beautiful balloons launched from the island in the morning and evening.
Chris, Leo and I flew over Red Rock Canyon early in the morning, the beautiful rock formation located just 20 miles west of Las Vegas downtown. The enormous rocky cliffs stand over 3000 feet.
I flew up from Belen, NM to Creede, CO the day before. This morning I got separated from the other trikes due to some radio problems. I headed out alone and took a tour of the chain of lakes that descend from Santa Maria Reservoir to the Creede Valley.
