We had steady light rain for about 1hour, starting near Lindrith. The clouds lifted near the vents where I looked to the side and saw Cabezon.
What a miserable flight. But we made it back safely to Belen.

I found “Royal Arch”, 175ft high with a span of 80 ft, ample clearance for a trike. On the other side of the ridge was a mini Monument Valley. It was too windy to explore today, but I plan to return and check it out in the future.
We landed at Pagosa, refueled and headed north up the Piedra Valley.
We flew past Williams Reservoir and approached the 12,500 ft mountains that blocked our path to Creede. It was 11am and the clouds were just starting to build.
Happy New Year Everyone!
Snow greetings from 500'. Taken 1-1-13 3:00pm, temp: 21F (-6C).
Had to shovel a gap in two drifts to get to the runway....but it was worth it.
We flew up to the top of Goose Creek and headed back down. Glad I had the Aiptek video running, because I was to busy flying to pull out my still camera.
A nice view of 10678 ft Sandia Crest, near Albuquerque, NM. I hadn't been to this point and taken in this view for over 25 years, back when I flew hanggliders here.
Here we are at Hay for lunch. We stayed the night in Hay and went to a Sheep Shearing Museum and demonstration. As they say, Australia was built on the backs of sheep.
