Don became a Solo Man today. Well done Don. Don has battled 30kt winds and thermals. He hasn't had a day without cross wind, and then today he went solo on a day with no wind... Don said that it was very strange to fly with no bumps or wind trying to blow you off the runway. He did very well.
Congratulations Don on your solo. I heard you being congratulated over the radio waves whilst out flying and saw the can of Solo on the table upon my return to YFT. It is a great feeling of achievement and congratulations.
We look forward to seeing you back down under in May to join the Megafauna. Safe journey home.
Hi Everyone, Don has headed back to the States today. This morning Don did a navigation flight to YCOR in 30kt winds at 2500 feet. He did a touch and go at Corowa and then headed back to Yarrawonga. When we arrived at Yarrawonga the wind on the ground was 20kts and it at 90 degrees to the runway. Don pulled off a great landing. I was ready to take over but I didn't need to. Don is goinig to be looking for a Trike when he gets home so if any of the AC members know of a good aircraft let me know and I will get Don to contact you.
