Gooney Bird Cockpit (DC-3)

This one belongs to the FAA (FlaBob Aviation Associates), it has quite a history.  Built in US 1943, transferred to British RAF for VIP transport.  Very likely flew the royal family, Winston Churchill.  Then became a general's private plane in India. Eventually to Pakistan who removed it's data plate.  Fake data plate made up with numbers from a destroyed one and imported to Canada, where several companies used it.  1973- Found derelict on ramp.  Then brought back into Canadian service again!  Then imported to US, changed hands few times and donated to "FAA."

Really limited vision when it's on its tailwheel through the narrow windows-- but what rugged, classic planes!!!

Ken, Leo & I took a tour for $2.  Got to sit in pilot seat (no signs said we couldn't).  Sally didn't go in, don't know why-- we told her it was COOL!!  We bought the T-Shirts too!  ;)
