Interesting flight this evening. Doing a few circuits after being absent from the skies for a month.  On my final approach, it looked like a small boulder had been placed on the runway at Moruya airport. As I got closer, the boulder starting moving off the runway so I was able to land with no problems.

When backtracking the boulder was back on the runway again! Turned out it was a very large echidna playing games with me. Little prick! I last saw it backtracking on 04.

By the way Jozinko and our other non-Australian friends, an Echidna is like a small porcupine or hedgehog. You can see one on a video I made near our place a while back. (The link is below) The one I saw today was probably triple the size. Biggest one I've ever seen.

The lesson is - always have a really good look at the runway and edges prior to that touchdown. Sometimes kangaroos can be found grazing on the sweet grass on the runway edges.

It seems like a common practise for you guys to have encounters with wildlife in your trike.  If its not forced landings due to a parrot strike, it is aborted landings to avoid wandering echidnas.  You guys are fast becoming the David Attenborough of the trike world.
