I’ve been collected “potential” flying video songs for many years. I’ve only made a few, but have various flying videos in my head with various songs.
Perhaps like me, you would enjoy sharing song lists. I suggest a page devoted to such a list. Here’s one I enjoyed discovering at the recent 42nd annual Kerrville Music Festival:
Roll It Down - Ray Bonneville

Tree Top Flyer - Steven Stills...I'm sure is on everybody's list.
Awesome idea cburg I've got a whole bunch of flying songs in my intercom how about the eagle and the hawk by John Denver that one makes me shrill when Iam flying.love Steven stills music, thanks
Mona Lisa - Chris Clouse
Tree Top Flyer - Stephen Stills
Nobody - Doobie Brothers
This is a great list CBurg ! I listen to tunes especially on long flights. I thought of a bunch that were great on the way up to Idaho. I have a playlist on my iPod especially for flying ;) One problem as far as videos are concerned is copyright. Freakin' YouTube ruined one of the best movies I made (me hang gliding in Yosemite- I had to put it on Vimeo instead), by making it a silent movie-- saying I didn't have the right to use the tunes-- It's very hard to re-edit movies once saved with music on them if you don't keep all the raw files as well (and who can do that, when they take up so much space?)
YouTube does list rights free music on their site, but, I gotta say this, for the most part that music is lame, or at least hard to dig through for good stuff.
Thoughts?
I think that it would be great to backdrop some good aerial video like XC or TTabs or Henry takes with Al Stewarts "Flying Sorcery"
Thanks XC,
Truth is...I'm mostly content with the videos in my head…with good music. I'm sure that will eventually be illegal too along with VFR flying.

Why does the (wreck of the) Edmund Fitzgerald (Gordon Lightfoot) always come on when it's rough or I'm landing? Sometimes it weirds me out and I have to fast forward.
For a mind blower, take a big breath, put this one on full screen, breath out and relax.

ahhhh cburg you made my day Iam a lifetime big fan of the moody blues have all of it on my flying list.how about the original (white bird) it's a beautiful day, or Kansas carry on my wayward son, Styx sail away, seagull by bad company, the eagle and the hawk one of my favorite soaring songs by John Denver, and of coarse Niel diamonds (theme to Jonathan Livingston seagull) no song list is complete without al Stewart or van Morrison.how about seals and croft.the day they say I can't fly to music is the day I become there worst enemy.

Hey XC, regarding Classical Gas by Manson Williams…Any time I run into a guitarist looking to play something I request this song. Only a few guys know it and can play it.
Mason Williams did so many versions, including the radio version, that it’s hard to get the best one. Same with Everybody’s Talk’n - Harry Nilsson. I have three versions, and still not the one I want.
