Lake Havasu airport, Chemehuevi Valley airport, El Mirage dry lake, and Flying J Ranch
Hi Sally,
In looking at those two links I couldn't see clearly where it was a front wheel wobble issue. One was a trike on skis and the other a highly respected pilot with student who impacted terrain from low altitude.
I entered both in the CSI group for discussion: Here:
and here:
I know few antares trike owners: Doug Donaldson of Golden State trike school, Rob Stapleton of Alaska, and Peter shelter.
I'v noticed several links that related to the antares trike's wheel wobbling and flipping over issues. http://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/wiki.php?id=73464

My antares trike's fork was modified from 8 degree rake to 18 degree. also the foot throttle was modified because of fork modification. The throttle cable was extended with about 2" tubing to move throttle peg forward but the steering peg stayed the same. It happened after I pressed gas throttle for take-off, just 5 ft after landing. I was suggested that I should use hand throttle for take-off, so I can focus on handling the steering.
Hey Sally, that sucks! But don't let it get you down. You are only a stronger, wiser triker now. ... and the positives are that your trike only has scratches. You've picked yourself up, you'll dust yourself off, and with guided help be all the better. .... We're still going to see you at Salton right!!?? Let's all plan on dinner Saturday night (we're getting down there Friday). We'll buy you dinner & a beer!!!
We've all crashed something .... Chin up ! ; )
Hello David, I didn't make the trip to Lake Havasu. I went on my 1st and 2nd solo on that weekend. I chose to go for solo flight instead of going to Lake Havasu. I'll be going to Salton Sea for sure. Hope to see u sometimes in the future.
hey salley sure wish i could off made it to havasu or dry lake maybe next time ive been so busy with work fire dept wrecker ser and lobbying at the capital i hope to slow down and do more flying in the spring
XCTriker and Jim, Hope you can stop by at Flying J ranch on way home for few min. It's located just at sw of El Mirage dry lake with 1500' dirt runaway. It's 1/2 mile west of private naval airfield. You should see trikes and 1 powered pg. It's located at Grey Mountain road and Colusa road.
Sally & CBurg, we missed you guys here. We were looking forward to seeing you.
Jim & I are taking off for home early tomorrow morning, some other pilots are staying a few extra days. We gotta get back for work :(
Hi Sally, So the weather must be good over there. I flew for a hour last night in 25kts winds with turbulance, and only did two landings. I was with student this morning and I hope to get my Tanarg up later in the day. Wel done and I hope you post a Gopro video soon.
Today, I flew solo on my trike for an hour and half with 12 landings. Good practice for me. Tomorrow I will go flying again, this time with Gopro video.
Sally: It's good to see another lady triker. My name is Lori Keech, I am a SP CFI WSCL - I have some time in a float trike as well. Looking forward to getting my sea rating. Hubby already has his. Do you know any other gals that fly trikes? Not finding too many and I have been doing this for 13 years. The lady trike pilot group disbanded when Sport Pilot came in. I train in the wing you are flying. I learned in an Antares. Nice Trike
