    We flew north about 30 miles through a flat, empty valley to reach the San Raphael River.   We followed the river downstream to reach the aptly named Little Grand Canyon.

    The slot canyon of the San Raphael River appeared a few miles further  downstream.  It is deep dark canyon with no escape. We followed the slot to Mexican Mountain.  I circled the mountain for fun, then came down to land.

    The wind picked up in the wrong direction, so I had to land between the trees at Mexican Mountain.  This was not fun in the swirling thermally air. I stayed just above the tops of the trees until I reached the wide spot at mid-field, then plopped down.

    We landed at Green River Airport where I fussed with my wingtip camera, then headed down the Green River Canyon.  This was an incredible flight, probably the highlight of the entire trip.
