We followed the Colorado out of Moab Utah for about 100 miles. Some areas had farms, but it was mostly desolate and empty country.- Beautiful Sundays morning. I flew home from Ružomberok - this is that town down with smoking stacks and the Váh river.
- GPS track of the Green River cruise. The Mineral Canyon Airstrip where we camped overnight is towards the bottom of the image.
- We intended to fly to Elk River, but Tom had continued bad fuel pressure readings and wanted to fly it home to Felts to work on it.
- Sunday, October 7, 2013 We got up early, leaving our tents and camping gear at the Mineral Canyon Airstrip and headed upstream along the Green River in lightly loaded trikes. This is Bow Knot Bend. WOW.
- Cruising up the Dirty Devil River. Near Hanksville, I saw a Powered Parachute circling ahead. I raised him on the radio to say good morning. He was a little surprised to see the two of us emerge from the middle of nowhere, then disappear into the desert wilderness.
- A winding brackish river leading to a natural spring. A boat takes you along it up to a restaurant and pools. Just like Disney's Jungle boat ride, only real.
- At Hite, we let left the Colorado to follow the Dirty Devil River. I did my best to keep a landable clear patch of terrain nearby. If I ever was forced down here, it would be nearly impossible to take off again.
- We climbed up high, and then finally figured out where we were for sure. Above the clouds at 13,999 over the junction of the Blanco, Navajo and Chama River Basins.
- Lake mead this morning. Water is coming back up after flooding the river to restore banks
