Winds were calm this morning and we headed straight up the Rio Puerco Valley with few scenic detours. We took a look at the mud water fall, flowing nicely from the summer rains.
We continued due north for Pagosa Springs.
We just landed at the very S/W end of the lake. VERY mountainous out here. The small ones are about 7K feet tall. Winds while we were flying were about 20mph at 7K today!!!

The sky was very active, constantly changing, but the near ground level winds weren't bad and the electric "e-gull" went flying and so did Ralph & Jim.

Sunset was spectacular and I didn’t bother with a tent and slept under the stars. Our weather window closes tomorrow afternoon, with the winds becoming strong in the evening. Although we had an extra day scheduled for the trip, we are heading home.
We headed east and soon were approaching Monument Valley. The winds were lighter this morning compared to our visit 3 days ago on Friday afternoon. I have flown here many times, and visited it on the ground twice this year and never grow tired of it.

We were up early this morning and packed up the trikes...y this day. Here is my trike warming up while I looked it over. The winds were calm up here, but after...
Toucans can't fly. Whilst on a cross country trip to Lightning Ridge in outback NSW, we had a forced landing. Suspected bird strike to the propellor. All went well though. No damage to trike or pilot and passenger. Yes, a video is being made. Watch this space!
