After leaving the Green River, we crossed over to the ColoradoRiver on the opposite side of Canyonlands and headed upstream. I found Corona Arch, made famous by a Tim Martin, a Utah Backcountry pilot who flew through this arch many a time.
At Hite, we let left the Colorado to follow the Dirty Devil River. I did my best to keep a landable clear patch of terrain nearby. If I ever was forced down here, it would be nearly impossible to take off again.
Working my way up the East River past Crested Butte, to 10707 ft Schoefield Pass, and on to the beautiful grass strip at Marble, Colorado. The big mountain at the center is Gothic Mountain.
We found the cliff where "Chocolate Falls" forms in the spring. No mud today, just some clear water dribbling over the edge. It looked like oasis in the middle of nowhere.
We headed due east along the northern edge of Canyonlands National Park to the ColoradoRiver side. This fin of rock is below Dead Horse Point State Park and just outside of Canyonlands National Park. It's near the "Caveman Airstrip", if you know where that is.
We passed the confluence of the Colorado and Green Rivers, then headed upstream along the Green to Mineral Canyon....the "Huck Finn" raft parked at the take out spot on the river.
