Waiting for the frost to melt off my wing at Buckhorn Airstrip, outside of Crested Butte, Colorado. The wings don't work if there is any frost on them.
It was getting late in the day, but our destination, Dirty Devil Airstrip, was only a few minutes away. The air was perfectly calm and smooth and I overdosed one the scenery and the flight.

We got up early, leaving our tents and camping gear at the Mineral Canyon Airstrip and headed upstream along the Green River in lightly loaded trikes. This is Bow Knot Bend. WOW.
At the base of Little Grand Canyon is a valley filled with buttes and camping sites. We met a guy at Huntington Airport that told us the local pilots are working to put in a backcountry airstrip here.
Bob, who manages the airstrip, invited us all back to do a several day stay of flying here. I said I could round up some guys as a work crew-- gonna need some volunte...
