Far below, on the southern base of Pagosa Peak I saw two impressive waterfalls. I wish I had spiraled down to get a closer look at them, but I wanted to make my ritual pass over the summit of Pagosa Peak as I have done for many years in a row.
The airstrip came into sight. There are no roads to Dirty Devil Airstrip, it is only accessible from the air. Paul was ahead and we made a low level pass to check for any debris or obstacles on the strip.
Working my way up the East River past Crested Butte, to 10707 ft Schoefield Pass, and on to the beautiful grass strip at Marble, Colorado. The big mountain at the center is Gothic Mountain.
Had time to verify the best settings for optimum/maximum glide ratio. I flew over the beach, but high. Nice and calm and surprisingly warm. I'll share that in the AC Owners Group.
Chris led me to a dirt strip a friend of his has set up by his ranch near Taos. We just made a low pass and did not land. We landed at Taos and topped of our gas tanks and headed out for the last leg of the trip Belen.
