Alltrikes

So - decided to commute to work in trike yesterday. Just a short hop. I'll skip the horrible Friday traffic. Not much wind for days with overall nice conditions. Light and variable forecast. DVO is notorious for strong crosswind with gap in hills funneling marine air, but that's in Spring/Summer! Windsock in the background there hardly moves all day. Then, an hour before full dark, I get suited up...step outside...and it's 25 kts 90 deg crosswind. Fog bank had snuck up all unanticipated and most unwelcome. Bummer. But this is really a story about being grateful. A tall hangar was offered. I needed help to taxi, and friends were there. Somebody came and retrieved me (in a car - nobody wanted to take off in a plane), somebody took me back today so I could fly the trike home. Happy ending.
