garrett thats just awesome ive always wanted to add skis here in montana just not sure if winter has left us for good no snow here in feb crazy by the way hpw about a video with this?
I can make a video. I usually make one video for the whole year.
Ski flying is the best.
I have some extra skiis laying around if you wanna get into it.
I made the one on the front because I got sick of taking front tire/break off.

garrett id love to get in to it. lots of runways here are not plowed in winter . so iam sure there is some skills to learn as well. what do you use for heat when flying low temps. i have elect gloves that run off a cig lighter but they dont get hot enough because of low amps.the coldest ive flown here is 35 degrees for several hours. ive done alot of snowmobiling in neg35 below. just looks like flying with skis would be a blast. a great way to stay current during the winter months for us northern flyers.frozen lakes would be awesome as well. fill me in.
I just wear an ozee with regualr old carhardts underneath. If it is below zero I wear a down jacket above that and I am more than warm enough.
For gloves i just wear a pair of mittens made for dog mushing, bare hands underneath. I can send you a link to teh mitts if you want. They are made in fairbanks.
I dont use any electric heaters or anything.
Deep snow is no problem. The snow on the river is about waste deep! Just dont try to get out and walk!! I never had lessons. It is easy. You would be fine you are from Montana so you must have some man in you.
If you want to get into it let me know. It is for sure the best type of triking.

i would love to get in to it in the past i steered clear of winter flying here. but my buddy j ebb down in arizona calling me saying hes going flying every day made me so jealous i went out flying this winter and i was pretty warm and opened my mind that flying in winter opens some uniqe oppertunitys. i have steered clear of it because i have severe white fingers desease from chain saw carving. but scince i quit carving it has gotten better.with some good bar mitts i think i would do fine.please send me the link. and i would be glad to pay you something for the skis plus the shipping . might need some tech support attaching them.i have two trikes a soaring trike for low and slow and my redback because sonya loves to fly. the air in the winter here is so thick and smooth and during the summer offers some of the best air in the lower 48.heres my e mail davidcoy.trike@yahoo.com i think theres alot of northern trike flyers that dont realize that you can fly and be comfortable in low temps. interesting subject for alltrikes and your the leader.
My girlfriend has a reback with a 503. It is the PERFECT ski flying trike. No cowling to fill with snow. Add a HacMan and you are good.
The skis fit that machine perfectly.

See you are an old hg pilot. I use a FLPHG unit as my soaring toy when no one wants to tow or our foot launch sites are not working. I love the FLPHG!! Ill add a few.

Just bitchen pictures with skis garrett. Ok next year skis for sure. Do you still have some you could sell me. Not much winter here only 6ft of snow! Quite unusualy warm for feb . Going flying friday woohoo!
