Wow what cool video.......so many trikes out there on one day......they were stacked up like mosquitoes on final. Can you tell me what the shiny dome like thing was on the orange trike at 8:31 in the video
Thanks for the great Video.
Hi Dave, thanks! You mean this black thing on the top of wing? This is new safety system Phantom 450, who is activated without a rocket. Its efficiency is very similar as rocket systems. Max weight 450kg/speed of flight 150km/h. Its certificated DULV/DAeC
Why at 6mins are the trikes landing with a tail wind?? FAIL!
But otherwise very interesting video.
This isnt a wind... :) And for second from this side the airfield is located diagonally upward, then is possible landing there for a stronger tail wind.
Thanks Jozinko. Uphill explains it :-)
Hey Jozinko, nice video. It is GREAT seeing so many trikers together. Can you tell us more about the Phantom 450? It sounds like you are describing a non-rocket powered recovery parachute. It looks like BRS is not that uncommon there, the guy at 07:10 appears to have one for sure.
I haven't heard of the phantom - here is a website showing some.... https://finsterwalder-charly.de/en/rescue-systems/for-ultralight.html
Yea, Ken. This is the website.
The BRS is not unknown here. More of trikes has it. But more of them are old and bought from secondhand...
That's really cool Jozinko & Ken. I had never seen those before. I made a page for them in Tech/Innovations (even though they are probably not "new") so we can talk about them and find them more easily
