An aerial view of the destruction caused by a tornado that cut a large swath through nearby Washington, Illinois. Hundreds of homes were destroyed or damaged.
To Jozinko: I have seen the path of several other tornados from the air, but they only touched down intermittently. This one was quite large and stayed on the ground for many miles. As for the nosewheel, thank you. I did not expect viewers would even notice that. The air was full of thermals and quite bumpy that day and we had a 10-15mph 90 degree crosswind on landing.
We dont know - fortunately - what tornadoes are. On TV news we can to see short shots only. I saw first time that devastation. Works with nosewheel I teach my students more times, because I saw some landings - especially on asphalt - where pilots (no students only) has a big throubles or crashed.

Sad to see such devastation for sure. Few homes were spared in its path, those lucky few must be crossing their fingers.
Thanks for the visual report IT. Agree with Ken.
OMG!!! This is very sad video! I never saw a destructions after a tornado. You can to see one line.
Nice work with front wheel before landing. This part can be shoved to students. You can to talk about it more times, but one time seen is better.
