Henry Boger is the master of complex LA Airspace. Boger has a great operation and and awesome pilot/extreme skydiver and is a huge asset to triking just like Henry trike life. Awesome two of my favorits fly together.
Shot yourself in the foot on this one.. if a trike/wing requires secret techniques to fly safe, count me OUT.
All the diretribe about spiral dive training.. don't get me on this.. not convinced.
The incident to inspire this thread,, was technically NOT a certificated DESIGN TYPE.
Hence, no Flight Placard, Limitations, Speeds or even a VNE.. what the..
Now 2015... personally over 46 years in the flexwing wing world.. agree we can Always learn - MORE.
Should the topic of SDR be so in your face.. not sure on this one.
IMHO - incident - pilot error. FULL STOP.
..Fly slow down low.. in you go..!
Resultive evidence.. video indictates, aircraft entering a flight path with low airspeed, low altitude, high AOA, low energy (power) .. PIC not maintaining aircraft control, possible off-shore rotor turbulence.. want more info, the aircraft combination was an UN-KNOWN... not Certificated by DESIGN.
Why.?.. do we have a thread on a gr8t website AT's, that is never ending.?
The truth is not so far away beyond the horizon..! Combined we have an awesome amount of global experience on AT's, IMO- we should create a change/modify the obvious thought pattern.
The aircraft was NOT certificated. Type Design Compliant.. show me the certificate.
If you are stirred by my post, no problem.
Have been quietly achieving aviation in the trike world of OZ,, since 1974.
As for secret techniques, special handling skills.. SDR, .. nonsense.. no tranparency or real safety.
.. imagine..
ALL manufacturers subject THEIR wings to a recognised Pitch Test procedure - DULV or similar, we just may learn way more than we know now.. especially if we fly wings with a Safe Design Result.
At times, to be kindly cruel, we must be humbly kind. To not see the facts is to live a lie..!
Post not intended for Henry.. commendable pilot skills during the instance of the incident.
More over to the stronger posters on SDR.
What is the absolute truth of this SDR thread... time to move the goal posts IMO. to the facts.?
Well technically this isn't the same thread as the really long ones on SDR. I thought it was just about 2 Henrys until the secret techniques were unveiled.
Sorry, wefly. But i have no idea why you are so upset. I said "secret" as more joke. Maybe, I should say it is more like "better technique". Larry didn't say these are "secret" in his movie. I actually said it is NOT secret at all in my second comment. Yes, I don't know anything in OZ. I just said through my experiences. Some of instructors I flew in the past never taught me these techniques. I actually went to Florida and flew with Larry spent good hours. I leaned from Larry a lot.
Well, my experiences is still so tiny comparing yours.
Hey Henry.. no upset message to you at all. Love the world you bring to us & your contribution to our sport.
My direct reply is to the hidden facts, the aircraft you flew that day was NOT certificated by design.
I have lost many friends (more than 60 pilot/wives/kids/etc) due to trike accidents by which Coronial Inquiry indicated..
... Pilot Mis-Adventure,,, bullsh**T.
How do accidents of similar circumstances occur, design fault - or do we accept aviation evolution history.
We have 3 new machines arriving at YFT - via Melbourne in coming weeks. The Ozzie compliance procedures are huge. If ALL the documents don't line up, we don't fly. Certification Type Compliance is the key element to safety.
Invested many decades of my wisdom to creating an ISO 9002 Quality Control System to confirm aircraft integrity imported, which allows us to fly legally in Australia.... safely.
Wish you safe flights in your sweet Revo, it's very you my friend,, keep posting videos.
I felt time to speak out, no personal issue at all. Safe flights. Chris Australia.
Hey Henry - once again, your photos are beautiful. You're a tremendous ambassador for our sport. Thanks for sharing them with us. Please keep them coming!

Thank you, Paul. Rival S wing was new to Henry. I taught him some secret techniques.
In the interests of learning, how about sharing those "secret techniques" with the rest of us.
Well, actually they are not secret at all. Please refer to the video Larry Mednick made.
The day we flew was a bit bumpy and some of his techniques work great.
What the.. secret techniques!

Reminds me of a movie I saw recently :)
