As one who had the very fortunate privelege of being in the backseat with hedgeview flying behind yft doing formation flying. i would like to be honest and give my opinion of this exsperience. first iam not one who normally likes to fly to close to others . not criticizing them at all. they are very good at what they do.They follow a very good agenda of rules and dicipline. The pictures do not do justice to how tight these precicion formations are. Now trying very hard to keep up my rough tough enduring montana spirit while visiting the ozzies whom have their own agenda for dun dee spirit i will say that ok i was glad to get my feet back on the ground while secretly hiding the hope that hedge and yft wernt really thinking man thous montana boys are real pussys mate.

Reviewing my thoughts and feelings while flying with a tight controlled formation and watching hedge very intently looking at the wings of yft while carefully managing the controll bar.Ill never forget the pic attention and communication between them.(Verry Intense) At the same time managing my own personal fears and dramma to maintain confidence and controll and trust. And certainly not to impose any distraction to them for my sake and theirs. It was fun and exciting and a little unerving. We all fly for different reasons. Some like low and slow . Low and fast xc. Some like solituide and altitude but whatever the desires the is no reward without risk.To sit in front of a tv without risk is a form of slow death. We are all so lucky to have the exsperiece of any form of this type of flight. Would i do this with them again  (OF COARSE) But after we landed hedge asked me if i wanted to go do it again and i said no i really wanted to get some video of it from the ground?  (FOR REAL ?????)

Hey WE, I just can't stop staring at the Ice Maiden rear. I might take my chances on a formation flight just to take a few air to air pics of this beautiful machine.

Unfortunately I didnt that beautiful experience with hedgeview and YFT when I was there. Hmmm I must to go there again :)))

Thanks for the comments WE, AeroManiac, And Jozinko. With the formation flying it take many hours training. We start with Communication methods, Basic formation, Position keeping, Formation changing, Take-off and joining the formation, Leading, and Emergencies. This training take about 20 hours and at the end you just may qualify as a wing-man. This type of flying is not for the faint hearted. However this type of flying will make you a better pilot.

yep i second that aero m    i have always wanted a all white sail and machine .i guess its the bird thing in me.I talked to kameron at northwing to see if he could make me an all white sail for my mustang 3 in the future. i would like to do some feather art work on the trailing edge. Ive been told that you can use magic marker safely but i would have to do some further  investigation that i wouldnt be compromizing the structural integrity of the stiching. If i had my choice the ice madden would be my xc bird and i would have a all white top of the line white eagle soaring trike.
