XC, thanks for posting my beach pic. The trip was on the Southern Cape Coast of South Africa. We took of at 08h30 the Saturday morning and flew coastwise in a westerley direction passing George, Mosselbay, Jongensfontein, Stilbay, eventually reaching the river mouth of the mighty Breede River ( Wide river) which flows from a northerly direction, winding to the coast through the most beautiful countryside and districts of Worcester, Robertson, Bonnievale, Swellendam, Malgas and then eventually mouthing into the sea at Witsand (White sand )
On route along the coast we must have spotted at least a 100 whales of which 30 where small calves - absolutely amazing.
turning inland at the Breede River mouth we flew up the winding river to Swellendam. Our purpose was to go to see the yellow yellow ( yes..ditto ) fields of yellow rapeseed that is so spectacular during that time of the year ( July/August ) - Absolutely breathtaking - Amazing from the ground and national roads were we always speed past at ground level, but from the air, an absolute wonderland.
We stoped at Swellendam for fuel and refresments that we fetched from town with a borrowed truck from some friendly fellow aviator at the airfield. We flew back home in an Eaterly direction via the N2 which is one of our major national roads running up the southern and eastern coastal side of our beautiful country.
We got home to Knysna as the sun was setting around 6 pm that afternoon.
An awesome day with perfect weather - we could probably have flown 1 000 kilometers that day if we had to!

Nice flight story-- you didn't happen to take video did you?
I'm guessing THIS was your approximate route?
XC You are so right - so you are not just a pretty face after all ! Well done - great app -I should try using it.
This was in the time ( those were the days ) before I owned the GoProHero3 - what Awesome footage this would have been!
I need my sunglasses to look at this pic. Whew that's a bright bird!
Thanks Ttabs, my Air Creation Clipper 582 is now 18 years old, 1200 hrs on the Hobbs and 510 hrs on the motor.
I do my best to maintain her well, and believe she will serve me for many more years to come.
I am expecting some new wing cables and other goodies from France soon to to keep her flying condition 100%!
