Good observation CrayonBox... I think that I have to agree with your conclusion here. I was impressed by the high quality of the welds that I have observed from your pictures of your front fork assembly on your Airborne XT. But even so, you appear to have a developing problem at the same stress point on your trike. Let's see what Airborne makes of it after their investigation results are announced.
I spoke to airborne this morning and there is a service bulletin coming soon. After discussion, this tube is designed to flex under heavy stress landings etc, otherwise something else has to bend!
I got the price for a newie = ouch.

That doesn't look like a weld crack. That looks like where the two tubes butt together has fatigued and broken - but not the actual weld.
