Beautiful bird
That is a spectacular photo... Does anyone know where it was taken? The identity numbers on the wing suggest somewhere other than the USA...probably Europe? I wouldn't think that the OZ or South Africa has snow caped mountains like these anywhere suitable enough for a ski vacation. :-) So does anyone know? Just being curious
.
Hold the phone guys................. I just googled it and to my very large surprise Australia isn't all that flat after all. :-)) Cool!.......or I should say COLD instead!
The is my prepurchase demo flight. I flew in my trike with the current at the time owner for the first time over Mt. Feathertop (summit peak at about 6000ft), in Victoria, Australia, which is part of the great dividing range. We are at 9,100ft in this photo. Feathertop is next to Mt. Hotham. It was 1st sept 2012, and very cold!
Well it really looks to me like you got your money's worth from your first demo flight CrayonBox. You Aussies have some real flair for adventure............ Way COOL! ;-)) and you just soloed this month did you?
Yes solo on the 7th January.
Flying over any snow covered mountains like Mt Feathertop will not be something I will likely be able to do again. It took me and a mate 20hrs of constant driving to go down to Victoria to inspect and collect the trike. About 1800kms. and then we had to return home with trike in tow to the sunny warm North - East Coast central Queensland area.
The whole trip was certainly a journey/adventure I will cherish and never forget. And the bonus was the trike! (and of course the demo flight). Map: http://goo.gl/maps/tpqxM
We flew from the Porepunka airstrip to the North, which is at 1000ft AMSL.
So you live in Queensland? Do you know Dave Marsh then? He is one of my on line buds. He flies a Pegasus Quantum 582 there in Queensland. He is a hoot!
not - yet,... :)
He is a member here CrayonBox. You two guys should get to know one another. He is working up in the boonies now in the 43c degree heat earning a living but gets back now and then. You two guys should be natural 'mates' when you get to know each other. :)
