I liked them both too, BUT could you imagine running up to takeoff speed on these tires .... in a cross wind .... in rough stuff?
Gyros can land very short, but the take off rolls I've seen are pretty long and shallow. That comment should be tempered by the fact that they can do a pre-rotation of the rotor and that I know nearly nothing about gyros.
We also noted the less than 1" clearance of the prop and the lower rudder bracket- amazing ! Not much room for frame flex or a rough landing. Again, I know nearly nothing, and this gyro seems to have been around the block a few times, so it works.
Just comments from the peanut gallery. I'm sure they have questions about us flippy-floppy winged trikes. One thing is for sure, we both did very well together out in the desert, doing our thing, flying our butts off.
