Where we Flew- latest Conquests

Here's the SkyVector Map for the area we flew last week.  When the other guys weren't looking, I took Nate, or Dave G, or someone to go hit as many airports as we could in the area.  On my Profile page is the full list & map of airports I've flown to.

Nate (@Nwhiteafd) & I hit some really good ones-  Ferndale (where Henry was last week, and Todd Ware hangars), Whitefish (when the winds were 25 mph cross only 100' off the deck), & St Ignatus at the South end of Flathead Lake.

Dave G (@DJG56) & I hit Orofino which I had missed on last year's trip to Elk River.

Also got to fly Sonia Coy (David's wife) over to Pullman and back with Adam & Tom & a kid from the Netherlands who came all the way out to Idaho to see Ttabs because of his triking YouTube videos!!!

Now I'm dreaming of hitting all non-private airports in Idaho!!!  ;)

David Coy's friend Bill's Ranch is listed as one of the GPS coordinates for landing (a bare field, S/E of Mineral County Airport (Mineral was under a fire TFR at the time)).  Dan Hollenbeck put us up at his house right next to Bill's Ranch for the night!!  Thanks again Dan & Bill.

David Coy also let me fly his skycycle-- Here was my log for that:  Flew David Coy's Soaring trike!  Skycycle/Zenoa GT5 (24hp) w Falcon-3 225.  First take off good, but climb out not good enough, so made the decision at midfield to abort climbout and land midfield (thoughts of THESE videos were playing in my head for my decision).  Started to taxi it back, but decided crow-hop flying it back would be more fun.  Turned around and tried a long take off again, same result basically.  ?Maybe slight tailwind ?  This time I'll try again from opposite side of field, full length-- very rough there, trouble maintaining full throttle (foot position) & maintain direction with bouncing.  Not a lot better.  Set it down at town end of Rwy and engine died.  "Engine Out"  Sparkplug wire had fallen off (fortunately the "engine out" occurred right as I touched down-- My first!!!.

So, I even got to fly David's cool soaring trike 6 times!!! ;) and an engine out!!!

Cool vidio henry got of you croe hopping the soaring trike from the air when you were flying sonya xc. Did you see it you look like a giant moth down on the runway.well the plug cap was secured with a wide zip tie but when i flew it had 2 zipties pulled tight.so after my eo at 300 ft iam going to fix that so theres a more secure system.i made a good eo approach and a nice landig no problem.ill post the eo video for criticisem as soon as i get my computer fixed. That was a fun time xc . But next time ill play better ping pong

You made a nice engine out approach--  no drama.  That's the kind you want.

I haven't seen the vid(s) yet.  Speaking of ping pong ...   here it comes
