It looks nice. But it seems to me a little short, isnt it?

  • ULtrikepilot

Interesting design.  Joz I'm wondering if the huge tires may help make it look short. My guess is it could be used to land on some rougher terrain.  Wondering whether the higher center of gravity could be of concern in specific situations.

Yes the tires allow landing in huge terrain. I helped my father to make few trikes and I cant to be a bad seer. We have experiences with short trikes and their unstability on ground. In my opinion This trike has high point of gravity (POG). The big tires are good for sandy or rough terrain, but here they picking up POG a litthe higher. Heavy engine is quit high, two persons sit too high. The trike is short and with high POG it could have a big chance to be unstable to the side especially in rough terrain. You can look at the man on the left. If you imagine him by the trike, his chest is in the same level as passenger seat. Usually the center of passenger seat is POG of trike. And here it is too high - in my opinion. I hope nobody will have a negative experience  with it and everybody will have big fun and joy. But I would not want to land on short RWY, or emergency landing to short place in terreain where I would use brakes...

    What do you think?

Joz, I completely agree with your comments about potential instability.  You called it high point of gravity (POG) and I called it high center of gravity.  It does not really matter what you call it since we are commenting on the same aspect.  Yes, POG is quite high due to large tires, height of seat locations, height of engine, height of wing, etc and this could be unstable during landings on uneven terrain (even catching a bump with one of the tires), cross wind landings, or even higher winds when parked with minimal or inadequate tie downs.  So I agree with what you are saying
