i built these about a year ago. igot the discs and calipers on line for $20. they work ok, not as good as hydraulic. they work good for 'run-up'. and 'moderately well' for slow down. the adapters were a piece of thick walled alluminum tubing, the plates were cut with hole saw and i used low temp weld rod, the kind they sell at the fair and don't weld when you get it home. it does, but you gotta clean the area with a ss brush and aim the propane at the thickest chunk and keep 'wiping' the rod where you want it to join till it runs making the joint.
